The Precision Fusion X Junior Flat Cut Essential Goalkeeper Gloves (PRG159) are a purpose-built junior glove for young keepers learning their handling. Precision describe the Fusion X as their third-generation goalkeeping range, designed and tested by professional goalkeepers, and the Essential strips it back to what a developing keeper actually needs: a wide flat-cut catching surface and a fit that stays put.
Key Features
- Flat cut construction — Precision state the flat cut offers optimum fit and stability and guarantees long-term, constant ball contact.
- 3mm basic palm — Precision’s stated palm specification for the Essential.
- Full traditional material backhand — Precision’s stated backhand construction.
- Coolair mesh underhand — Precision specify Coolair mesh underhand fabric to stop you sweating.
- Elasticated wristband — Precision list a fully elasticated wristband with pull loops and a double touch fastener for extra support.
- Box-shape fingers — Precision describe box-shape fingers with fewer seams and lighter weight for more stability controlling the ball.
Performance Overview
Flat cut gives the largest contact patch of any glove cut, which is exactly what a developing keeper wants: a forgiving catch radius that rewards getting hands to the ball rather than punishing imperfect technique. Confidence in the hands is the first thing young goalkeepers build, and a wide, predictable palm speeds that up.
The basic 3mm palm is the trade-off that makes the Essential affordable, and it is the sensible one for a player training two or three times a week. Step up to the Finger Protect version (PRG157) if they are playing every week.
Benefits
- Forgiving catching surface that builds handling confidence.
- Coolair underhand keeps young hands cooler through a full session.
- Junior sizing from UK 2 to 7 covers a wide age range.
- Priced as a sensible first proper goalkeeping glove.
