Balance & Flex Profile
The Yonex VCORE 98L (2026) is the lightweight VCORE tennis racket for rising competitors and attacking players who want speed, spin and confidence in every swing. It brings the spin character of the VCORE series into a more manoeuvrable, easy-swinging 285 g frame – ideal for improving players, juniors moving up to adult frames, or anyone who wants the feel of the VCORE 98 without the physical demands of a heavier model.
Key Features
- Sweet spot – a refined upper-hoop extension and a newly sculpted tapered inner frame give a bigger ball-pocketing zone, making it easier to roll topspin, control defensive blocks and generate height even when contact is not perfect.
- Snapback – the lighter frame lets the stringbed play a bigger role; Yonex’s horizontal grommet system gives extra rotation, a naturally higher launch window and more forgiving spin for developing players.
- Speed – an aerodynamic redesign reduces drag for an easy, fast racket head on running passes, quick defensive lobs, reactive counters and late in a match.
- Stability – Servo Filter for vibration reduction, 2G-Namd™ Flex Force for responsive flex, VDM for comfort and feel, and HM Graphite reinforcing the frame.
- 98 sq in head with full 4S spin technology – faster acceleration, higher, shape-driven rally shots, easy depth and access to spin from any position.
Performance Overview
Speed is where the 98L stands out: the lighter mass and aerodynamic frame make it quick to accelerate, while the 4S technologies keep spin generation high. Even at 285 g it stays composed, with a stability not usually found in lightweight frames, giving players a more professional feel. This is the VCORE for players who want more speed, forgiveness and confidence without losing the modern performance feel of the flagship model.
Who Is It For?
- Improving intermediates who want spin-friendly control
- Juniors moving into their first full-size performance frame
- Players who love the VCORE feel but want easier acceleration
- Doubles players who need quick handling for reaction volleys
- Anyone seeking a lighter setup without losing access to power or spin
